How "BEACON" came to be

BEACON was born from a profound realization shared by five Multimedia Arts students from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. They observed a troubling trend: many of their peers disengaged from voting and apathetic toward political discussions. This apathy seemed pevasive, leading the group to investigate further. Upon delving deeoer they discovered that the reasons for this disengagement were multifaceted.

Determined to address this issue, BEACON shifted their focus to understanding the relationship between the student government and the student body. Their findings revealed a surprising truth: the Benilde Central Student Government (CSG) was not inactive. On the contrary, numerous initiatives and actions were being undertaken to address campus concerns.

The real problem lay in a lack of communication and engagement.

Many students were unaware of the government’s efforts, leading to a perception of inaction and irrelevance. Many students were unaware of the government’s efforts, leading to a perception of inaction and irrelevance.

Recognizing the disconnect, BEACON was formed with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between the student government and the student body.

By fostering open communication, promoting transparency, and encouraging collaboration, BEACON aims to rekindle interest in campus politics.

Their ultimate goal is to not only increase voter participation but to also inspire collective action and meaningful change within the Benilde community.

BEACON is more than just a campaign; it is a call to action for students to reclaim their voice and influence within their campus. By addressing the barriers to participation and amplifying the efforts of the student government, BEACON hopes to create a culture of engagement and empowerment
